Our Country

I'm feeling pretty sad about the state the world is in right now, not for one particular reason either, there are many.

I just got done watching a video that was taped after a woman called 911 for help after being attacked - she wound up in custody and the police not only strip searched her, but there were 7 officers, most of which were men who forceably removed her clothing. They did not ask her to remove her clothing, they simply pushed her down and began their brutal assault. The sheriff of said county, is of course denying all allegations, denying that they did anything wrong - when our laws clearly state that a woman MUST be searched by ONLY another woman. They used 7 officers to strip a handcuffed woman that is a mere 125 pounds, the victim of an attack.

I also just watched a few videos in which Ron Paul is discussing our country and pointing out the different ways and things our own government has been doing to us for longer than I can imagine. He spoke about our taxes and the state that our country is in econmically and how we can overcome this national debt, but does anyone listen? Instead of realizing his ideas are amazing and can work, he was simply questioned about being a Republican and how he is too liberal to win over the majority of Republicans. Our troops can come home, our nation can overcome poverty and war... our chance is here and it is terribly frightening to me that because our government is so corrupt, who knows if he did win - if the government would even allow the truth to come out and We The People have the President we so deserve and desperately need.

A close personal friend of mine whom I know with my heart and soul is innocent - is sitting in a jail cell tonight because a teen who is rebellious, always in trouble, and who just so happens to constantly be fighting and arguing with her parents to get her way, a known liar and God knows what else about this troubled teen - has accused him of sexually assaulting her about 4 years ago. With just a written statement an innocent man sits and waits for a court whether he should continue to live his life with his loving family or be locked away for heaven knows how long. The man in question has no history of such acts, barely a record to speak of, an honest, hard working man who has been in a relationship and in love with the same woman for over 4 years. This man has never shown to have any interest in young girls, is Godfather to at least 2 girls and has helped raise quite a few other kids with his long time family friends. This is a man who anyone who knows him, knows him to be a man of integrity, trustworthy, honest, hard working and who possesses excellent moral values.

Another man I know, has spent 18+ years in one of the worst prisons ever, because he defended himself. A known drug dealer of killer drugs such as methamphetamines was drugged out of his mind and came at this man with a knife and an intent to kill. The man who defended himself, killed the attacker and with no criminal record whatsoever, was found to be guilty and sentenced to life in prison. This man, was a high-school football player, served in our Navy and is a college graduate. He owned his own home, worked 2-3 jobs to get ahead in life and is one of the most upstanding men I've ever known. He has worked hard while in prison, to keep his sanity, to keep a 'good behavior' status and even earned several degrees in welding so that when he finally is released, can provide for himself and his wife. A man defended himself against a crazed drug dealer and still to this day, sits in prison.

The government has obviously gotten out of control. We The People have allowed such acts to continue. We have allowed our government to dictate what we are allowed to hear on the news - with candy coated stories and half truths or just blatant lies. We have allowed our government to tax us ages longer than originally agreed and still we keep handing over our hard earned money. Where does all this money go? Certainly not to the people who gave it. The money goes to send our troops to fight over oil and make-believe terrorist acts, it goes to police officers and sheriffs who (some) take advantage of women and men in many ways, all over our great country. Our money pays for our children to die in wars of violence with no real winner in the end. Our money is being used against us. Our government has turned into the biggest monolopy scheme I believe this world has ever seen.

Our judicial system sides with those that have more money and an attorney - regardless of who is really at fault. We allow cold blooded murderers back on the streets simply because they are famous - spending our money on a trial that did not end in justice. Our government has allowed creditors to control and dictate how many times we have to pay a debt because they continue to hound even after payment is made in full - by giving a new account number to the case and pursuing to the point that we have no choice but to pay again if we want it removed from our credit. Oh, and it doesn't end there. Not only are we allowing our government to take our money with no hope of a benefit in exchange, but we are also doing it to each other. Friends with a price - they say you find out if someone is truly your friend if you loan them money or if you borrow money. We are told: If you choose to lend money to a friend, you should do so without any hopes of ever seeing it come back from them - but if it does, then you are lucky. In a lot of cases that I've seen, it's one person that either had ill intentions and planned on never paying it back - then you just never hear from them again. Or there's those that are so angry that one is not in a position to pay the debt back no matter how much they desire to, they just aren't YET able to - and hence, you lose another friend because that friend will not allow you to take the time needed to get 'your ducks in a row'. In other words, they want it NOW or screw you!!!! You find out who your friends are, but there is a price. But hey, if our government can do it to us, what's so different about doing it to each other?

We live in a country that is no longer what America is about or stands for. Our country has been run over with deceitful politicians, law enforcement and even those fighting for justice - a good portion of our attorney's. We live in a country where liars are rewarded when they have a good attorney to help them manipulate the system and the burden of proof falls on the innocent to prove they are innocent. Our country forces our children to enlist in the military and 'volunteer' to fight even if they do not believe in fighting and killing - we have allowed our rights to be compromised, our children and our men to die meaningless deaths. The health and well being of our earth is being polluted by our own government and those who can pay someone to 'look the other way' while they dump chemicals on us, from the air, the sea and on land - in our fruits, our vegetables and our meats. How ironic is it that cigarrettes are legal but marijuana is not? As far as I know, no one ever died from lung cancer from a doobie. They may have eaten a little too much of our chemical laden fast foods, but heaven knows they aren't dropping from fiberglass, tar and nicotine in their lungs. 

Our great government has made sure that they have almost complete control over every aspect of our lives. Our government allows our farm animals to be drugged with growth hormones and other chemicals making even our most natural of food sources tainted and really, not fit for consumption. Some of the most influential and encouraging leaders of change and leaders of greatness are mysteriously or randomly 'shot down' and killed while giving speeches of our freedoms and rights, change that we all crave and so desperately need - to me I believe these leaders do not just 'get' shot down, I believe there is more to it than that - but how could we ever know the truth with a government that controls everything in our lives, such as the media?

What is the solution? What can we do to erupt change for the better and stop the madness once and for all? I don't know that there is just one answer to that question. I know that it begins with each of us, it begins at home, it begins with one person being the change and making a stand, however that stand may look. I believe that LOTS of somethings MUST be done immediately or else We The People do face the end of the world in 2012 as so predicted by many. I believe it also begins with caring for one another as we ourselves want to be cared for. They say that if you want good things to come to you, to give good things to others. If we want something, we must believe we deserve it, we have a right to it and we will not settle for less. That does not mean that someone else has to go without, for there is enough of everything for everyone. Somehow, someway, we must all ban together as one - with one common goal in mind: To Save Our World, Save our Country and Save Ourselves and Our Children. It begins at home, it begins with what you put out to others and it begins with knowing that we are all truly ONE. It begins by owning up to whatever you have done - right or wrong; accepting the consequences and allowing ourselves to be forgiven of our sin - and to become a better person. It begins with honesty, love, compassion and standing up for what is right. It has begun, what will you stand for? When will YOU decide to wake up and make a stand? What can you do differently to help with the inevitable change that has started? Will you make a stand, or will you continue to be led by others, dictated by others and allowing our children to die?

The Choice IS OURS, the time is NOW.
